SQL Database Stuck in Restoring Mode

Problem:

During a simple Restoring task (from a backup file with Replace option, With Recovery), the SQL database got stuck in the Restoring mode.

Possible Cause:

I remoted into the server, and found that the data and log files I specified for restoring have dissappeared somehow.

Any attempt to access the database resulted in ‘Database cannot be opened. It is in the middle of a restore.’

Solution:

I did the Restore from SSMS. To bring the database out of the Restoring mode, I simply started another Restore task, with the data and log files pointing to different files this time. It finished the restore in 10 minutes.
