    Sherry,

Is this error generated in BIDS or the SSMS Export Wizard? Also, what version of SQL Server are you running?

      Scott,

The error is generated in SSMS, when trying to connecting to the Integration Services with Windows Authentication. We are running SQL Server 2005.

    Sherry,

It sounds like either an unregistered dll (Dts.dll) or a permissions issue for the account executing a package.

Check out this kb article for ways to fix a dll problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919224

Check out this forum post for troubleshooting a permissions issue: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqlintegrationservices/thread/23c264d2-39eb-4d9a-8dba-83b0a555249d/

      Sccot,

I totally forgot about the version issue. The error came up from SSMS 2008 when I tried to connect to a 2005 Integration Services. It works fine now from SSMS 2005.

After using 2008 for so long, I keep forgetting about the version incompatibility issue.

      Thanks,

    Sherry,

Hotfixes, service packs, and versions. There are a million ways for things to go wrong. I am grateful that SQL Server has an active user community for support. Glad to hear your issue is resolved.
