The person in this position will be responsible for ETL to migrate data from legacy systems to a new asset management application and provide database interfaces between the new and continuing systems.  The new application is a transactional system which tracks and manages a large volume of IT related hardware and software.   The ETL responsibilities will include data cleansing, standardization, transformation and database object (primarily tables, stored procedures and views) design.
Responsibilities will also include working with business analysts, project managers and the user community to develop upstream and downstream ETL details, design and documentation, testing and implementation, and performing the steps necessary to deploy an operational ETL application.  Though this is not a DBA position per se, some DBA related responsibilities such as installing/configuring database and related software on a server, database optimization, setting up jobs, creation of linked servers and  related troubleshooting may be involved.  Responsibilities will also include development of SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Integration Services applications.

-10 years experience in the information technology field.

Strong database analytic ability – must be willing to demonstrate.

-Experience gathering requirements from users, translating them to design specifications, implementing the design and following through to user acceptance testing.

-5 years minimum with SQL Server.

-2 years with Microsoft Reporting Services.

-2 years with SQL Server Integration Services.

-Experience with database code optimization.

-Past experience with system conversion projects and ETL highly desirable.

-Comprehensive knowledge of IT infrastructure and its terminology a big plus.

-Experience with HP Asset Manager also a big plus.

-Knowledge of asset management, asset discovery tools, network administration and/or software licensing a plus.

-SQL Server 2000-2005, with SQL Server 2008 a plus

-SQL Server Integration Services

-SQL Server Reporting Services

-Visual Studio 2005/2008 a plus 
-ASP.Net  a plus
